Wowtsi wow
The Lakeland healing revival har växt…
It’s our first night in the Tiger Baseball Stadium. They say it seats 10,000 packed… We are packed PLUS. We have wheel chairs lining the dugouts… and behind home plate.
PLUS, hundreds sitting on the grassy knoll behind left field, hundreds standing in between the bleachers and concessions… maybe more than a 1,000 extra!!!
We don’t know how many hundreds were not able to come in because there was NO PARKING ANYWHERE!!!
THE MAIN ROAD WAS SHUT DOWN FOR A HALF-MILE IN BOTH DIRECTIONS in a traffic jam!!!
But that isn’t the WHOLE story. The anointing is so strong in the stadium that we all are OVERWHELMED!!! Todd literally laid down on the platform!!!
Suddenly, out of no where… THREE OSPREY’S (they look just like small eagles) FLY OVER THE INFIELD CARRYING FISH IN THEIR MOUTHS!!! THE CROWD SCREAMS!!!
The crowd begins to chant – JESUS, JESUS, JESUS… we can’t control them…
Todd declares… 30 Days ago this outpouring began in a 700 seat sanctuary, moved to a 3,000 seat sanctuary, then to a 7,000 seat arena, and now tonight, we are in the 10,000 seat baseball stadium!!!
Wow, that is really amazing…! Läs de här vittnesbörden:
A young boy was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around his throat… left him with a heart problem… if he ran he would pass out…
HE TAKES OFF RUNNING ALL AROUND THE BASES OF THE STADIUM LIKE HE JUST HIT A HOME RUN!!!
A lady died in January of this year… had a stroke & seizures… had heart surgery… coded… they brought her back… has been using a walker and cane… ever since!!! SHE IS WALKING PERFECTLY!!! She was healed in the morning service.
A lady had a tumor on her stomach… THE TUMOR IS GONE!!!
A young man had pain & infection from a hernia… came from NY to get healed… headed for surgery… HE CAN BEND AND JUMP WITH NO PAIN… HERNIA IS GONE!!!

While I am a Pentecostal and I believe that God works now as he did in the book of Acts, sometimes I worry about these big revival/healing meetings.
1) While God does and can heal, in or out of meetings, many people are not healed and this can severely challenge their faith. Sometimes, they blame themselves for lack of healing. More care should be taken to help people understand why we suffer even if we have faith and are strong believers and why God does not always answer us in the way we would wish.
2) Pastors in these meetings need more humility. When God works through them, they often start to behave like superstars and accept adoration from people (raking in tremendous amounts of money).
3) When it becomes a sensational issue or an issue glorifying individual leaders, there is a strong temptation to be dishonest about the results of meetings.
4) Revivals are often sporadic and temporary, while the Bible calls us to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit. I believe it is more important to seek a continual and permanent growth in one’s spiritual walk and in being Christ to those around us than seeking a temporary spiritual high or an event that leaves us empty when we return home.
The hard work of spiritual growth takes time and effort in placing ourselves in a situation where God can work on us to perfect us in love of God and fellow human.
One of my professors at Evangel University, W. E. Nunnally, who is very much a Pentecostal and has even written a textbook commentary for Global University on the book of Acts, did research on the ministry of Benny Hinn. His research is included in the book, The Confusing World of Benny Hinn (http://www.amazon.com/Confusing-World-Benny-Hinn/dp/0971624739/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1210109877&sr=1-13).
As a part of his research, he visited my home town and checked medical records and interviewed medical personel at a hospital that Benny Hinn claimed had had the patients emptied out due to healing during his visit there in the 1980’s. I actually attended the meeting my professor researched. It turns out that things were not quite what Benny Hinn had reported.
I hope I’m not annoying you too much, or putting a damper on. I think we need more fervor, openness to the work of the Spirit, and expectation of God to work, but at the same time, we need to use discernment in seeking after God. Reading your blog has actually changed me in reviving my desire to be closer to God and seek after him more like some time ago, to be alive.
Thanks for your comment!
No, you are not annoying me - I have actually thought of the same things myself. :)
I agree with you that they should talk more about why some people don’t get healed. I have struggled with this problem myself, since I had health problems for some years ago. I asked God to heal me - but he didn’t. I still don’t know why he didn’t heal me. One reason might be that I didn’t really understand what Jesus did on the cross for me and I did neither understand his love for me. But he has begun to show me more of Him and more of who he is - that he is good.
Sometimes God maybe doesn’t heal because he knows what is best for us. I heard a story about a father whose young son was very sick. He prayed together with his wife for their son and asked God to heal him, but their son died. The father cried out to God for months after the death of his son and asked God why he didn’t heal him. God then gave him a vision. He saw an drugaddict that was totally lost with no hope. Then God spoke to him: Your son would have become like this if he hadn’t died. He would have been lost forever, but now he is with me. Then the father understood.
Yes, preachers do often need more humility, that’s true. And it is very sad to see leaders accept adoration. Even if the leaders don’t want to accept adoration some people make them superstars anyway…
Sad to hear about Benny Hinn’s false reports… But - did he only have a bad memory or did he really mean to lie?
I’ve heard a lot of bad things about Benny Hinn, but I can’t deny that God does mighty things in his services… The presence of God is strong there, I think. I have never attended any, but I have watched some over the internet and over God TV.
What do you think about Benny Hinn Ministry’s services?
When talking about revival - I think we actually ARE revival if we are continually filled with the holy Spirit.
But there is something about when God does something special somewhere… an outpouring.
There is so much more than our ordinary church services. What if God came in a much stronger way in our services?
Spiritual growth is, as you wrote, a continual growth, and hard work. It is much more than healings and empty wheelchairs and good services.
But… I long for more!!
Carol Arnott explained why the revival has continued in Toronto for over 15 years: “We honour the presence of the holy Spirit and we love him.”
Todd Bentley said in a service that all he wants is more of the glory. The glory changes us. In the glory we get healed. In the presence of God we are changed forever!
I’m glad that you have become more hungry for more of God! Hallelujah!
God is awesome.
