Soaking
The other day I visited Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship’s homepage and found texts about soaking. Soaking is simply being in God’s presence, and we need that today. You may have heard about “the Toronto blessing”, however it’s a “Holy Spirit movement” that svept through Toronto… the US… Europe… almost everywhere. People got, and still get, mightily touched by God through the ministry. Yokes are broken when you meet with God and you are set totally free. And it’s all about loving Jesus and getting to know Him. It’s not about any odd manifestations or visitations by devils, it’s the work of the Holy Spirit!
What is soaking? (from TACF’s homepage)
“To “soak” in God’s presence is to rest in His love rather than to “strive” in prayer. As the person receiving a touch from God begins to connect with the reality of the Holy Spirit’s presence, he often responds by falling or simply lying on the floor. As he rests expectantly in God’s presence, often the Holy Spirit hovers over the person to reveal more of God’s love and to renew and repair areas of a person’s life. As the believer soaks in God’s presence, the Lord takes control and begins to draw his attention to God’s word either in the scriptures or through internal audible impressions or pictures he sees in his mind’s eye.”

I think unbelief and selfpity prevent the Holy Spirit from working in our lives. I’ve experienced that when I’ve only been thinking of myself and focusing on my problems I’ve hadn’t had any strong encounters with God. But when I’ve put my focus on God and just put away all bad thoughts, God has touched me.
Unbelief is also an obstacle. If you don’t believe, it’s hard for you to recieve from God. Everybody have faith - but you won’t find faith in your carnal brain. But if you listen to your heart you’ll find faith. Joyce Meyer is preaching a lot about this and I think it’s a very important subject.
I have been struggling with doubts and unbelief, but I feel like it’s disappearing more and more as I listen to my heart and spirit. My carnal brain will never have enough faith, but my heart, my spirit will have.
Of course we have to use our brains since we were born with them but it’s never good to think too much. I know, because I think a lot (too much!).
On a camp last year I met with God. During some prayer meetings (they were not really like ordinary services, more like soaking services) God touched me in a wonderful way that truly changed my life. All my doubts disappeared. But at first I felt selfpity because I didn’t think that a touch of God was for me. I longed for it but I couldn’t put my faith to it. God couldn’t touch me since I felt so selfpity, I think. But when I put that aside and was just hungry, he was able to do something in my life.
Be hungry - God wants to touch you! Don’t waste the opportunity, your “kairos moment”! “Come, now is the time to worship…”
You can soak at home or in church… just by listening to him, calming down and laying down on the floor (or sitting upright if you’d like to, just relax). It’s okey if you fall asleep. Just let him fill you with his presence and peace. Peace is the most wonderful thing and I’m sure we need it in the midst of all stress in this world.

Thanks for bringing this up. I’ll check out the link when I have a little more time. To be in the presence of the Lord; even for a few moments, is awesome like nothing else.
Have a blessed day in Christ:

Hello dear fellow Christians.
Allow me to warn you for the activites from Toronto. I have seen what is happening there and I can not compare that to my Bible…
Falling down is a negative thing if it’s anything else but getting on your knees.
We must base our faith on what is told to us in the Bible, and not get taken away with experience and feeling. It’s not God’s wish for you to experience Him in some extreme way of feeling or soaking. He wants us as a whole because He paid the pricew for us on the cross of Calvary. he covers us with His blood and because of that we ARE made new and He lives inside of us! That is a steady relationship based on FAITH in what the BIBLE SAYS, not some rituals that bring you in trance, no matter how it is being spiritualized. Please hold on to the Bible, because there are many false prophets today that come with good sounding happenings but are not based on the solid, down to earth word of God.
With love, Jacky
